Searching for author and title of a romantic novel that forces a woman to choose from 3 men...?

and there's something about puffins. I really loved this book but I cannot remember the title or author and cannot find it no matter how much I've looked. Don't have good details except the main character is named I think Ruth and she travels in somewhere in Europe one summer looking for answers about her father. She meets a charming Texan, a brooding artist and a nerdy teacher who she all becomes romantically involved with and puffins is her favorite animal. Help!
