How do I fix the sound on my computer?

I just purchased a new sound card (Sound Blaster X-fi Titanium), installed the hardware and then the software. It was working for about 2 days, then, after I installed a new hard drive(not exactly sure if it was directly afterward), it stopped working(also, I must mention my computer kept shutting off several times because of a thunder storm. Hoping my cards not fried :x but that shouldn't affect my on board audio, right?). I uninstalled the drivers and then reinstalled them several times(for the card and the on board audio), but nothing has changed. I also disabled on board audio in the BIOS to see if that would help, but it hasn't. Now, whether on board audio is enabled or not, I get no sound from the on board audio or the card. Also, when I go into the device manager, there are no sound devices listed. What do I do? Help is much appreciated.

We do not have a fall here, in fact we do not have any seasons. The temp.stays exactly the same pretty much. How can I get over my stage fright?

I'm in an advanced cl for Language Arts and Social Studies, and we have three separate plays. One is the Imaginary Invalid (it's French if you don't know what I'm talking about) a male Julius Caesar, and an Amazonian version of Julius Caesar. I tried to get a part in the Imaginary Invalid, mostly because I do better in comedies rather than dramas. Of course, my stage fright got the better of me, so I got put in the Amazonian Julius Caesar. Me and another person are the Soothsayer together. This is where the crappy part comes in. Not only do I suck with dramas, can't make some witch-type voice, but I'm too afraid to even say it out loud to the people I'm acting with! I think in my mind "I'm going to do this, I'm gonna make this play work!" but my body won't do it. I'm scared, and they all try to encourage me, and say I need to be louder, but I just can't!!!!!! My L.A. teacher said that she liked the difference in our voices, because the person I'm working with can muster the courage to actually say it loudly to them, but I just barely murmur it. I haven't a clue why I'm scared to say it, but I just am! Maybe if I asked if I could whisper it loudly, but I think that would sound kind of bad... What do you think? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Why isn't the wood in my fireplace burning?

This is our first fireplace, and we can't seem to keep a fire going. Kindling burns well, but obviously doesn't last long. The actual logs that we are putting on the fire only char on the outside, and do not actually catch fire. We have used fire starters, but once the starter is gone, there is no flame left, only whole, charred logs. Any suggestions?

1 year old labrador limping out of no where?

watch for the limping again after he runs or jumps since it could be signs of hip dysplashia and it can start after running full out.my rottie was around 3 when it showed up and she started limping and wouldn't use her back leg. the xrays showed her hip poped out about 1 inch and i couldn't let her run anymore and surgery was no gaurentee since she was 135 lbs and huge.i managed to keep her comfy for a few more yrs until she could no longer walk. call ur vet if u find ur pooch having problems again . good luck

The natures, I don't know what's increased or decreased in them since I didn't memorize them, but I know Adamant increases Attack so you did good with Scizor and Infernape. Tyranitar is a slow Pokemon, and Jolly Nature increases Speed and Reduces SP.ATK, I would've gone for an Attack increasing nature. I think Bold Nature is nutural isn't it? Outdoor wood burners hot water?

Whats wrong with my turtle!?

I have an alligator snapper, he lives in a 30 gal tank with two red eared sliders and 4 large goldfish. haha. Well, one thing is certain. Keeping two people from engaging in ual activities, underage or not, is near impossible. People are going to do what they want regardless. As for the birth control, I think if teens are trying to be responsible about , you shouldn't take that away from them. I have been having symptoms that make me think I may have one of these conditions. Should I stop this antibiotic?

I have a sinus infection/ear infection/ bronchitis. Dr. gave me an antibiotic that wasn't resolving the symptoms, so second choice was Levaquin. I've completed 4 days of the 7 day round and I feel a little improvement. While checking online about how long it should take for it to work, I found that people have had some really bad side effects, even months after the prescription is done. The doctor is closed till Monday. Should I stop this scary antibiotic that doesn't seem to be doing much or take the last 3 and hope for the best???

Car dies in park or neutral need help please?

I have a 2000 hyundai elantra gls. It has 87000 when i start it i have to pump the gas sometime and i shouldn't need to since it is fuel injected. When i place it in gear and it idles it does fine idles at about a grand and then when i take my foot off the break and hit the gas it drops rpm to about 5-600 and then takes off fine. When cruising and i let my foot off the gas it steadily drops rpm to almost a grand or so. its a gradually but not like my other car. this car acts like there is not more power in the car. if i hit the gas it jumps back up no problem. But yesterday it just started this. I was talking to my buddy had the car in drive foot on the brake no problem. pleased it in park it sat for a min and the bounced rpms between 400 and 1300 and then dies after a couple of time and then other times it will idle fine and i noticed it does it also if i place it into neutral. not sure if these all are tied together but thought i would put everything on here and hope for the best.

Fair price to replace 4 Radiator Hoses on 1997 BMW 528i?

I recently bought a used 1997 BMW 528i, and have had radiator/overheating problems. Took it in for service, and was told that the 4 "back hoses" would need to be replaced right away before they could even diagnose the source of the problem. I was quoted a price of around $450 for the hoses and related labor. Am I getting fleeced? I don't want to go further down this road --- at this pace, I may be paying more than the car's worth to fix it.

i do ten minutes jogging on treadmill then another 10 on elliptical then a 10 on the stepper----- but you can do 15 running 15 elliptical? because i hear that sticking to 1 thing isn't really beneficial. if you are on the ellllliptical use "cross training mode" - it works out your whole body! i lost alot of weight on elliptical too. its not a complete workout if i don't do some time on it.

When is it appropriate to bathe with or bathe children according to age/?

I was reading a question in the Dear Margo column about a concerned grandmother who was having issues about her 5 yr old granddaughter's father bathing with the child. This does appear abnormal to me, but I understand different people have different comfort levels. It does raise other questions for me, however. My daughter is 4 years old, we do not have a tub, only a shower. I am always in the bathroom when she showers and mostly I only wash her hair or scrub her knees and elbows. My father does the same thing for her when he is babysitting. I think this is appropriate. There has been an occasion where I have been short on time having a full time job and being a full time college student, and I have taken a shower with my daughter. I wash her hair while mine is getting wet then wash mine and get out and leave her in the shower while I get ready in the bathroom then get her ready when she gets out. Takes about 15 minutes to get us both ready that way when we are short on time. I think its appropriate. Margo, however said no one should be bathing with children except for same children of the same age. Also since our bathroom is detached from the house I always have her play in the bathroom when I am showering and I take her to the bathroom with me and I go with her. I was looking for a consensus opinion on this I don't want to scar my kid over bathroom privacy issues.
